ABOUT THE BOOK

 

Ramadhaan is a month of immense blessing and mercy and is among the greatest bounties of Allah Ta’ala upon this Ummah. This month is famously known as the month of the Quraan as the Quraan Majeed was revealed in this month.

 

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The leader of all months is the month of Ramadhaan.” The virtue of this blessed month can be understood from the fact that Allah Ta’ala revealed the four main heavenly books; the Quraan Majeed, the Taurah, the Zaboor and the Injeel in this month. It is in this blessed month that Allah Ta’ala has ordained fasting upon the Ummah during the day and standing up for the Taraaweeh Salaah during the night. Apart from this, the great ibaadah of itikaaf and discharging of sadaqatul fitr are also among the important injunctions associated with this month.

 

The battle of Badr and Fath-e-Makkah, which were among the salient events of Islam, took place in this month. There are innumerable virtues mentioned in the Mubaarak Ahaadith regarding this auspicious month and there are many ibaadaat and injunctions that are linked to the month of Ramadhaan. Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Had my Ummah only known the great virtues and abundant blessings of Ramadhaan, they would have desired that the entire year be Ramadhaan.”

 

This book aims to explain the Mubaraak Ahaadith regarding the month of Ramadhaan as well as the sunnats and aadaab pertaining to the various ibaadaat carried out during the month of Ramadhaan. The relevant masaa’il pertaining to fasting, taraaweeh, i’tikaaf and sadaqatul fitr have also been explained.
